The latest IDEA book is Hello, I Love You by Derek Ridgers. The iconic British press, street and nightlife photographer dove into his archive to select standout images of couples kissing, holding each other and sharing unexpected moments of intimacy. Previously released as three ultra-limited zines that sold out instantly, IDEA now brings everything together in one volume, finished with a beautiful obi band.
Ridgers writes that public displays of affection were never really his thing. The last time he remembers rolling on the floor with someone was at The Roundhouse when he was seventeen. Still, his archive tells another story. Punks and metalheads kissing on the street in the 70s. Skinheads and mods in club corners in the 80s. Ravers and hippies at festivals in the 90s.
