Early sculptures are always of bodies, in turn through history we sculpted our own bodies too. And if you think the ideals of the Kardashian-Jenners are new, you are wrong. Even the ancient statues all had godlike impossible proportions as well.
But today faceless stomachs stare back at us on dating apps. Ozempic pills are the fast food of skinny. Skims the modern corset. We spray tan, tattoo, pierce, do surgery. Gyms sharks and health gurus online, tells us our body is no longer a temple, but a shopping mall. And finally our bodies are now weaponised and politicised.
Your body is everybody’s.
